Your opinions please!
I need to get a gooseneck hitch for my truck.
I want a removable ball or hide a way ball type because I use my bed. This means no rails on the bed floor. Here my four chooses so far Valley USB, Curt Quick Goose, Popup hitch, and B&W Turnover ball. They all rate similar.
Valley USB 6250/25000 Cable controled removable ball
You do not have to reach under the truck to release ball. Nice feature in the winter up here. But not weight rated as high as others
Curt Quick Goose 6000/30000 Hide a way type
Raise and lower ball with lever mounted in drivers side rear wheel well. Slick looking but could be a pain i the winter.
Pupup Hitch 7500/30000 Hide a way type
Raise and lower ball with lever mounted in drivers side rear wheel well. Could be a pain in the Winter.
B&W Turnoverball Removeable ball
Remove ball by pulling lever mounted in wheel well. Could be a pain in winter.
Now your opinions please. :D

Hey Jordan!
Have you made any decisions? I have been looking at Popup Hitch, B&W Turnover, and Curt Quick Goose. I am kinda leaning towards the Quick Goose due to the cleaner install on the topside of the bed. It will see minimal use, and I use my bed alot.

Look at a an unagoose hitch. Rated at or better than most. Nice looking install and no levers to pull. A couple here have them and love them. The only downside I see is the lack of accessories compared to some of the others. Here is the web site:

I use a b+w turnover
Lever rides high under wheel well and can't see
snow balling up that high but maybe so.
With ball turned over hidden it sits flush with
the top of the bed rib.
I some times haul 1800 lb. air compressors
On skids we slide in and glides right over hidden hitch.
Wish I could say the same for paint job
Ball stem is 5" deep 3/8' and receiver is same.
I have no worries about flex.
I haven't seen other the hitches so can't comment
on them.
Hope this helps.

I looked at a bunch of hidden gooseneck hitches and decided on the B&W turnoverball. Have been very happy with it. When not in use doesn't even impact on anything that I put in the bed. Looks great with Rhinolining. Look at my picts to see for yourself. Rey tongue.gif
I too choose the B&W hitch. I don't know if it will but it looks as if the "up-side-down" ball would hit the chunck, were the truck heavly loaded. I don't worry about it. The ball stays in the toolbox and I have a rubber mat over the whole thing.

Hey Smitty - Did you do the install yourself? It is very clean! Did you spray undercoating on the brackets after you were done?

Silver Bullet;
I did install the turnoverball myself. Was pretty straightforward and the instructions with it were excellent. The key is marking where to drill the hole for the receiver. Had to make some measurements as instructed in the manual but still it's pretty hairy making such a big hole in the bed of your truck. If possible I would try and use a holesaw and make the hole just slightly bigger than the receiver. Then try and smooth out the hole as much as possible. The rest of the receiver bolts onto the frame from the bottom. You then have to drill 4 mole holes in the bed for the safety chain hooks.
I installed the hitch then had it Rhinolined. Looks great and haven't had a problem with it at all. Some time later I got sick of seeing the pewter and the hitch support glaring at me from the wheelwell so I decided to undercoat the wheelwell. Just went down to Autozone and got some rubberized undersealer, masked the parts I didn't want to undercoat, roughed up the paint with some steel wool and put about 3 coats of undercoating on it. Now it's all black in the wheelwell and I'm happy again. Good luck in your search. You can't go wrong with the Turnoverball. Rey
Love my B&W Turnover Ball hitch.
Very easy, clean install.
Nice product.

I built my own and it took a lot of work, but I know it will hold up to anything. It looks good and the ball just unscrews with a pipe wrench. The trick is to keep it greased. I like the looks of the UNA-Goose hitch but don't know of anyone using it.
If you the THE VERY STRONGEST--get the UNAGOOSE! Tested to 60,000#-guarenteed to 40,000#. When removed the bed is left flat. No linkages to corrode or freeze up. Looks good too! :D

Sorry about not responding. Work has been keeping me very busy. I ordered a B&W turnoverball and companion 5th wheel insert. It is sitting in my garage waiting for me to install. The Una-goose looks very nice. But it was overkill for me because my truck is SRW. The 5th wheel companion is what sold me on the B@W.

Thanks Jordan. I was initially leaning towards the Curt Mfg. Quick Goose, but I am now leaning towards B&W.
