Out to clean my wipers off on my 03 2500HD D/A and found that I could not pull the wiper arm back very far without hitting the back edge of the hood. Is this just a problem on the 03's? is there a trick to get the wipers to park vertically without shutting the engine off? This makes cleaning the ice off of them not much fun.
Mike
Mike, do not pull the wiper back too far. I did that the day after I got mine and broke it! The "new" trucks have a goofy wiper set-up. The wiper has only a limited ammount of movement. I am guessing that the company A: was saving money or B: Had stupid lawsuits from wipers breaking in a carwash or something. And yes, the only way to have vertical wippers is to turn off the truck.
Might I suggest something? Annco makes a "winter" blade that is wrapped in rubber. They worked well on my PS, perhaps they will work well on the D-Max. :D

It is possible to adjust the arm to make it work properly. The dealer should do it, but sometimes getting them to do a simple 2! minute fix is a RPITA. One would think that during the quality control check at the plants they would find this out, but I guess not. Mines a 2001 and had the problem when I got it. It can be adjusted.
