I have a 2003 DA CC LT. I have 1300 miles on it. GREAT TRUCK. No problems and averaging between 17-18 mpg in combo driving. No pulling loads as of yet.

I want to wire the Cargo Light Switch to activate a light in my Canopy/Shell over my tail gate. Will use one 55 watt. flood type. Can anyone suggest where to tap into the cargo light circuit.

Thanks.......

This forum has been great. Lurking here for the last year and learning....learning....learning.

I don't have a good answer for your question, but I've been thinking of using the cargo light switch to control some backup lights. I thought I would have to wire it at the switch by taking the dash apart, but if there is somewhere easier to get access I'd like to know. I started the thread about multimeters because I wanted to test the output from the switch. I also heard that the wiring was a little different on the 03's. I think I was told the polarity on some of the switches was different? I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong

If you use a relay and ground the relay into the blue with white wire in the left A piller it should work. Worked like a charm for me.

Like this.

Power through the relay for Camper goes out to camper

Power to activate the relay
Negitive to ground the relay goes to the blue with white wire in the drivers a piller wiring bundle

Not being an expert on relays.....what type would you use. Would Radio Shack have an idea what i'm looking for?

My only other concern is the 2003 wiring is allegedly different that the earlier years.

Thanks for the response....I will do further research into that angle.

Just goto autozone of niptpicking napa and ask for a 20amp or bigger relay. Bosch or simmilar is good.

Make sure you put a 15 amp fuse BEFOR the relay

and make sure you use at least a 20amp power wire

I have the aux wiring in my truck so it was no trouble :D

Can do......

Working on a cb install tomorrow and #4 charge wire for for my trailer. Gets those batteries up a lot faster that that little #8.

Thanks, Larry
