Is the timing set to the same specs on the newer (99's) as the 94 and 95's. I realize the computers are different, but assumed they work the same. I had my older ones at -1.80. Will that give me the same results?
-1.80 is what mine is set to, and I do a lot of pulling. It is what I would suggest.

GM TDC off-set is -.25 to -.75, per my 98 manual
Better performance if you bump to -1.5 to -1.94, cold mornings especially with HO injectors -1.94 make a significant racket till she warms up some
Timing if that is what you are inquiring about though is 3.5deg avg actual, in time set command with desired commanded to 0.
I've had my TDC offset at -1.94 for over 3 years and 70K miles...... It's worked well for me.
