Well I searched but didn't find what I was looking for. I know NUT'N or someone had some info on this. I am looking for cable routing for the roof mount antenna and power supply for the unit. I have the Alpine unit that will match up to a 7894. Also where are you guys putting the reciever? Right now I have the amp power running up the drivers side and the RCA, speker wire running up the other. Thanks

^...I mounted my antenna on the front part of the cab (over the inside / rearview mirror). I then routed the antenna lead (on the outside of the windshield) under the weather stripping, on around to the passenger side rear door (across the top all the way back). Come down on the top rear corner of the rear door, through the door seal (leaving about 4" - 5" exposed), then back into the door seal, down and around to end up going into the rear cab and mounting the receiver under the passenger side rear seat (removed the useless screw jack). There is (literally) just enough wire to accommodate this routing. The amp is mounted behind the rear passenger seat, in conjunction with the sub-woofer. I then ran the amp power and antenna leads to the head unit, under the passenger side carpet / door entry steps, diagonally across the passenger side floor (under the carpet, no problems)and up under the dash, across the air duct, up around by the gauge panel and into the head unit compartment. The dash is really easy to remove and makes it very easy to work on.
New door speakers in all four doors. I really enjoy the customized system. Alpine head and Rockford Fosgate from there on back. Use the Terk mouse-looking antenna. It's the better of all that are available.

I put my XM antenna on the rear part of the roof about 6 inches from the center high mounted stop light. I wired into the cab through the upper brake light on the cab. Pulled down the headliner and fed it down and through to the drivers side extended cab trim.(near the seatbelt mount) I removed my rear seat to do this so I mounted my XM reciever under the rear seat. Theres a perfectly flat mounting spot on the floor(the hump that the floor jack etc. is bolted to) I put it on there underneath the carpet and pulled up the door sill paneling fed it up through the panel for the hood release(tapped into the fuse box, note find a constant power) then wormed all my wires to my head until behind the instrument cluster. Please note. I have had some fizz out problems with my XM radio. Make sure that your mouse antenna has a 20 to 60 degree angle on it. Thats what I think the fizz out problem is from(going under bridges or tree lined roads)

Thanks guys, I still have more install on my system before I can get to the XM radio. Ummm 20 to 60* angle? I may have some other questions when I get to it. When I get done I will have the Alpine 7894 with the Xm,Boston 6.5 pros up front driven by a JL 300/2 amp,Boston FX's in the rear off the HU, two JL10w3v2 subs behind the seat driven by a JL 500/1 amp, and some factory speaker wire in the trash. Changing out the factory wire was not hardly as fun as I thought it would be!

^...Don't worry about the angle of the antenna. IMHO, it's a moot point. Especially going uphill and downhill :D . Glad you have everything under control.

Does it matter if I run the inter conect along with the power wires,(amp wires included), or should I run it with the RCA's and speaker wire? Also did you power off of the fuse box or go directly to the battery. And what is the deal with two connections on the power wire? This install stuff is new to me, but I am havin fun. Need MORE time!
