FYI, DesignTech has some 3156 replacements available. I tried some and it is a quick and easy upgrade. They work a lot better than stock...also put a set on the TT.

I am sure no one is likely to have the backups on long enough to melt anything. But I would like you observations.

I've had a set for about a year. No problems. Wasn't as big an improvement as I hoped for, but still much better.

They do get warm but nothing has melted. I suppose if you left them on long enough there may be a problem. It is a good improvement for the money.
