Since GM doesn't offer the navigation system with map screen as a factory option, I was wondering if anybody had any comments about navigation systems that could be after market installed. If so how well do they work.

I also have a Volvo XC90 V8 with the built-in Navigation system which is a dream to use. I need something similiar for use in my truck.

Many of the top-end stereo manufacturers market a navagation system. It replaces the OEM radio head. A really neat one I saw had a display that stowed horizontally (like in a CD slot), and slid out and popped up at the touch of a button. Very nice. An added bonus is a very nice radio/CD head. Some have DVD capabilities.

DmaxMaverick,

Do you happen to remember the manufacturer's name or model of the navigation unit you referred to?

Thanks for your reply smile.gif

Try this Pioneer website (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/mec/category/two/0,,2076_3149,00.html)

It may not have been a Pioneer, but was similar to one on their site. Careful what you ask for. They're spendy!

I have been eyeing this upgrade...only now trying to figure out how to get it under the radar.
