Anyone with a 2003 or with an electrical schematic tell me what wire or fuse the dimmer ciruit is on so I could tap for lighting my boost and EGT gauges?

Much appreciated.

According to my GM computer service manual, you could access a dimming wire on the back of the headlight switch.
Pin # is 14.
Wire color is BRN/WHT
Circut # is 230
Function is Instrument Panel Lamps Dimming Control

Looking at the face of the plug that goes into the headlight switch, with the lock catch at the top, it would be the bottom right wire.

Thanks a bunch. I guess there was an ILLUM fuse in the pre-03 models. Not anymore. I'll take a look at that tomorrow. Holding the wire in the cig lighter for my trial run wasn't fun. haha.

There's a wire under the dash in the distribution center..... I'll try to get a picture up shortly...

If the image doesn't show, go to my picture album, and it's in the Misc. folder.

Now I'm confused. Mav says brn/wht and the picture shows a blue wire. Is that pic of the backside of the dash fuse panel or that little panel on the floor where the brake controller plugs in?

Thanks

edit----

I see that is where the terminal is and the blue wire is not factory. thanks

Did you figure it out? Which "tap" did you use? Just wondering if my info was correct.

The wires I am describing are in the plug that goes into the back of the headlight switch. Matts dimmer Tap is under the dash.

Sorry about the confusion. The blue wire I added. The picture is of the distribution center under the dash- under the black plastic cover forward from the emergency brake pedal.

Hope this helps...

First of all, thanks to both of you.

I did find that the brn/wht wire is the dimmer wire as Mav stated and that's the one I ended up using. I also took the cover off the distribution block on the floor and determined that it would be easier to tap into the light controller module. I took a quick volt reading and it was the correct wire. Thanks guys!

Glad I could help.

Are you going to the Dyno deal in Ramsey, MN on the 18th?
