Hi Bill
I do not have the Ranch Hand Bull Bumper as I installed the Front End Replacement Bumper and the Cowboy Rear Bumper. What's going to hurt is the shipping cost however I found dealer who does not add the shipping to the price. I ordered my front and rear bumpers from Auto Trim Design, 2506 Phyllis Lane, Billings, MT, 59102, Phone: 800-391-1668, Fax: 406-656-9919
It seems that they don't add shipping to their units. The person that I ordered mine from told me that he would just have it dropped shipped to me rather than shipping it from Montana. Since I live north of you, the shipping would be the same or slightly less than for my unit so I would think he would do the same for you. Saves a bunch on shipping cost.
FYI, the Front End Replacement Bumper and the Cowboy Rear Bumper fit correctly with no problems, other than the weight of the front unit smile.gif I suspended it from a forklift using a nylon strap when I installed it. Sure made life easier and safer!

I to have both bumpers, the full replacement and the cowboy rear. I live in Montana so just drove down to Auto trim in Billings and had them do it, no shipping or installation charges. If you call them, ask for Ken. Tell him John from Great Falls (2500HD) sent you!! Hope that doesn't double the price! All kidding aside they are terrific, and the massive bumpers really make the Dmax look "finished". Good luck,
John

Bill, did you check out the Ranch Hand URL at http://www.ranchhand.com/?

Someone posted a photo of their HD with the Ranch Hand, but I don't seem to have a copy. They sure look great. If I ever mess up my stock front end, the Ranch Hand is the way i will go.

I too was looking into the Ranch Hand front and rear bumpers. Does anyone know the weight of the front bumper and will the stock reciever hitch attach under or through the rear bumper. I wouldn't want to loose the 10M hitch capacity.

The full replacement front bumper is about 250 lbs while the cowboy rear bumper is about 180. If you get the cowboy with the 10" drop you can still use the factory hitch as it bolts right to the bottom of the bumper, making it part of the frame and bumper. That will allow 10,000 lbs dead weight on the factory hitch and 12k with an equalizer hitch. You can also mount a hitch reciever on the top of the cowboy below the license plate and have 5000 lb capacity. I don't know how other hitchs will or won't work with the cowboy. If you need pictures let me know and I can email some Friday.

Thanks for all the info I called Ranch Hand today they gave me some dealers in CA. They also sell but with a big shipping cost, around $170.00 dood to door.

Thanks Bill

I have pics of both the front-end replacement and Cowboy rear bumper on the photopage link below. I've seen the RH Bull bar with lights mounted on an HD, and it looks pretty good, but I personally like the extra protection afforded by the full replacement (it's saved my headlights more than once!).

Cobra one: The RH dealer that installed my front-end replacement stated that the unit weighs over 300 pounds. After seeing how the front-end squatted after install, I believe him! I had to crank the torsion bars and raise the front-end a full inch and a half to compensate...

DemaxDiva,
Thanks for the photos your truck looks great. I like the way the front bumper sits at the wheel wells. How is the bumper holding up any rust and will the air bags still work the same? Can you mount a winch on it? I also like the black on black your truck has. My truck is white I hope it will look as good when I get it finished.

Thanks Bill

Hi Bill:

The bumpers are powdercoated from the factory, and I have yet to see any rust. There is a front receiver hitch for mounting a "portable" winch, but I don't know of any permanent mounts available. Frankly, I've been thinking about a Warn, and as expensive as they are I like the idea of stowing it out of sight (after all, I live in Houston... ). As far as the airbags are concerned, I have no idea...I will say though, I'm not too worried about a head-on collision with this bumper on this truck! ;)

Bill McGouirk asked:
1) How is the bumper holding up any rust?
I have not seen any signs of rust however I did buy a can of the special touchup paint from Ranch hand. Yes, I have had to use it after two different people bumped into the front corners of the bumper. All they did was scratch the paint on my bumper. Sure would have liked to see what happened to their vehicle. smile.gif

2) Will the air bags still work the same?
I asked Ranch hand that very same question. They assured me that the air bags are not affected. The air bag sensor are mounted somewhere else and are not involved with the bumper mount.

3) Can you mount a winch on it?
From their web site "Options include winch mount for Warn winches up to 9500lbs (excluding I series)" When you order the replacement front bumper be sure to specify that you want the winch mounting option. The winch mount is under and behind the front of the bumper. It is protected and hidden. Ranch Hand cuts holes in the bumper to allow access to the winch controls. The winch cable comes out just below the square receiver hitch. They modify the front of the bumper so you can bolt the roller fairlead at that location.

One option that I strongly suggest you request is the rubber covers for the uprights on the front of the bumper. If you ever have to push something the rubber will provide some protection. Warning, it took me longer to install the rubber pads than it did to install the complete replacement bumper!
I suggest that heat the rubber in HOT water before you start and don't install them cold like I did.

Did you check with Auto Trim Design in Montana for their price? Not only will you save the shipping but also there is no sales tax.

George
