Any info on best front mount receiver for 2001 2500HD D/A and part number. I don't want to cut the air dam. Which is best? Thanks in advance!

I ran into the same problem with my last truck. I couldn't find an aftermarket front receiver after months of searching. Ended up getting it fabricated at a local welding shop.

I did have to cut a square hole in my dam, BUT there are all kinds of "goodies" made that fit receivers, so it ended up looking like a factory ram logo in the middle of my dam. (Last truck was a Dodge Ram) If I do it on my Chevy it'll be a bowtie.

Hidden Hitch makes a pretty good one. The receiver tube butts right up against the air dam, and the rest of it is hidden by the air dam.

I'm going to grind off the welds one day and move the receiver to the top of the cross piece. This will require putting a hole in the air dam for the "stinger", however I think it looks better. Like Sneaks says, you can stick one of those Logo thingies in there when it's not being used.

I bought one of the Hidden Hitch front receivers and installed it last week. It fits right over the front frame rails, tucks up inside the front air dam, uses the 6 bolts that hold on the front tow hooks and the receiver is just touching the bottom of the air dam. Fits really well, simple install and no cutting. Only negative that I can see is some reduced ground clearance with the 2" receiver box hanging down below the air dam and it'll make it tight to remove the front splash pan for lube jobs.
