Grommets

Where can I find a 1 3/4" rubber grommets to protect the wires that will be going through the factory hole in the firewall on the driver side?

Try a local electronics parts store or a NAPA store.

I tried NAPA yesterday but they said they don't have any in their book. But I havn't check with electronic store yet, probably Radio Shack. Thanks.

Just checked Radio Shack website and the biggest one they have is 1/2". I guess I will have to dig deeper.

Slit a piece of vacuum line length-wise and make your own. Overlap the ends in place and add a bit of superglue.

I do not know the actual size of the inside diameter, however, I used a PVC grommet On my truck. You can get them at any auto store that sells PVC valves.

just reread your post. why do you need a 1-3/4" gromit? that is a big hole.. specialty electronics stores maybe have something that big.. the H-depot ones are up to 3/4" ID [needs 15/16" hole iirc]

Man, that is a pretty big hole! If all else fails maybe you could cut a slit in some 12" black plastic culvert pipe. :D ;)

Worse comes to worse, go to your local Home Depot, etc. and purchase 1/2 inch pipe insulation and cut a length to fit the circumference of the hole. You can secure it with a dab of silicone caulk in a couple places.

I bought my grommets at a local auto parts store on one of those H.E.L.P. Displays.

They have tons of them, I bought a 2 pack.

If anyone is stuck I can get them easy. A couple bucks and a .37 cent stamp!!!!
