I have read a couple of older posts regarding the Kelderman suspension system. My wife and I just returned from vacation up in Oregon. Great roads. When we got back into California it was like being on a buckboard. We have a 2001 3500 CC D/A and tow a 9000 lb. travel trailer. Last year I took the overload springs out and put in 4" dropped shackles to get the bed down so I didn't have to use a step stool to get in the bed. It made the truck sit level when unloaded and with the trailer hitched it sits down about 1 1/2 inches. The ride is great without the trailer except when on the concrete freeways. Everybody that I have talked to says that is just the way it is. I don't believe that I can't improve the ride. Can anybody give me any advice as to what they may or may not have done to improve the ride in their 3500 CC 's. I love my truck but I hate the ride when we are on the freeway. Have any of you guys tried or know of anybody that has tried the Kelderman 2 bag system on their CC's? Thanks for any help. This forum is the best place for info that I have found.
I have the Kelderman 2-bag system on my Crew Cab.

Ever seen the "signs" on the sides of concrete trucks that say "Nothing Beats Concrete Streets"
Yeah, nothing beats your vehicle or your body like them...

I've got a full air suspension (by the now defunct Fleetco) and am very satisfied, but this is a spendy way to go. My first attempt to lower the truck was 4" shackles. While this was successful in lowering the right height, it also succeeded in placing the overload springs right on the snubbers - this will guarantee a choppy ride with almost any load in the truck.
You might consider removing the overloads and adding a modest cost set of air bags, Firestone or otherwise. This seems to be a popular approach to dealing with your situation. Also, if you have not replaced the OEM shocks, please consider Bilsteins or a set of Rancho's. I'm very happy with my Bilsteins, but adjustable shocks (Ranchos) might be preferred with an air suspension.

Hey Mark, thanks for the reply. You say you have the Kelderman 2 bag on your truck. How do you like it? Did it solve any problems that you had? Let me know what was the reason for the installation. I really like the idea and the design but I don't want to throw money away if it isn't going to fix my rough ride. Thanks again.
