View Full Version : Where to mount TEKONSHA PRODIGY
Got mine last week but have not had a chance to mount it yet.
Where did you mount yours???
Reason why mounted there??
Pictures???
Thanks,
Nathan
Mine is mounted to the underside of the dash, right above my right knee. It looks like it'll be in the way, but it won't.
I mounted it there instead of under the steering wheel (where a lot of people seem to mount it) because I can easily see the display and also reach the manual brake control in an emergency.
Great controller.

Mine is mounted under the dash dead center to the steering wheel. As a matter of fact GM provided two screw holes there to make it easy for you to mount without having to drill any holes. It should also be in your truck. And the wiring harness plug goes into that box just to the right of the e-brake peddle.

Did basically the same as StrangeEngine. Bottom part of dash on right side. This part slants slightly towards the firewall. Prodigy can be mounted at a significant angle. Close to console on right leaving enough room to take it out of holder or use manual control. On my 2000 truck it was mounted on center under steering wheel and I would bump it getting in and out so had to move it to the right. This location works well and looks good.

I put mine right above mt right knee. Same reason as above, can read the display easliy, but more so because I am right handed and can quickly reach the panic stop button.

Great!!!
Thanks for the replys.
Old Dog,
I saw the holes that you were talking about. Great idea to have them but I believe I'll try to the right side for now.
Mark, Kleve, DieselDixon, Looks like to the right is where it will go. I'm right handed also. Had one to the left on my old 1-Ton but kept hitting it with my knee or leg when I would get out. The easy exit seats make it nicer to get in and out!
Thanks for the pictures Dixon :D

An optional mounting location. Mounted mine in lower dash opening right above center console and second opening below radio. Wiring harness that came with the controller will reach that far, puts it in a great location for manual control and set-up.

I have mounted my brake controler on the lower left hand side of the dash, next to the parking foot brake. Instead of drilling into the lower dash though, I drilled into the magnesium cross bar were it is out of the way and less likely to smash my leg into it.
I stuffed mine in the useless Crew Cab cubby to the right of the HVAC controls. Same place that Mdrag put his SPA digital...
