View Full Version : Bottom line on gauges
I'm about to order my EGT/Boost gauges. I'm leaning toward the SPA DG-211. I like the idea of 2 gauges in one pod. I also like the looks of the Auto Meter and the Banks, but would have to install a 2 pod system. I just like the looks of the single pod install. I know they install all the same, so it boils down to quality and service.
What do you think of the quality of the 3 brands mentioned?
How about service?
Who has best price? What should I expect to pay?
What is the recommended probe size?
I'm turning to you folks who have much more experience than myself.
Thanks again!
When I installed my SPA DG-211, I couldn't find anyone who made a single pod gage for our trucks. So I had to buy the 2 pod A-pillar mount. That might have changed by now, that was back in March. The other hole sits empty right now untill I can decide what other gage to stick in there. It makes a nice pencil holder right now though. Let me know if you find a 1 pod A-pillar mount.

3-fan I think I got my single pod at jegs, you may want to check with them.
I've got the single guage pod that fits on top of the steering column. Will installing a Autometer EGT guage. Havn't decided on the Cobalt or Carbon Fiber guage. I had the carbon fiber in my Ford (ooops, sorry guys) and they really looked sharp.
You can see the pod at:

pullinpower,
I checked at Jegs in person and also just checked their website and they don't list a single gage A-pillar pod for 2001 and up GM pickups. Does an older model GM truck pod fit?
If you could round up that part number of your gage, maybe I could match it.
Thanks!!

Dawg, if you check out Kennedy's site, he has the SPA211 installed in the overhead consol instead of the A pillar. I kind of like that location if you only want the one gauge. Just my 0.02.

3-Fan,
Check out the url posted below. They do not offer a full pillar single gauge mount. They do offer single pod mounts that could possibly be attached to the factory pillar!?!? Just a thought.

everybody is going to be about the same in price, ~$345 for the 211. www.kennedydiesel.com If he isnt the lowest, he wont miss by much. And, you can call him if you have problems and speak to HIM... not a counter guy that hasnt installed one before. He WELCOMES the 2-3 in the morning calls. Thats customer service. tongue.gif
2-3 AM??? NOT QUITE!
Try 8am-5pm CST. While I do answer after hours some times, I often swear(under my breath) at the guys that call after 6pm and DON'T leave a message
