Well, I picked up a 2004 2500HD Crewcab this weekend and I'm ready to get rid of the wheels, but I'm having trouble selecting a wheel I like.
I'm going with a 16x10, so does anyone have any recommendations on wheels. Oh yeah, I want Chrome too. No more polished aluminum (too much work).
I'll be lifting it in a couple of weeks.

Congrats on the new truck! I too pondered wheel choices for quite awhile before I could decide. Very happy with the Weld Evo's ... however they are 17x8's ... I'm sure they make'em in all sizes. Very nice to have the chrome finish ... but that finish cost me about 4 bills each. I guess over the course of 30 something years the maint. savings will pay off. Well, welcome to the crew. I have the polished rims but here is what they look like.

www.centerlinewheels.com (http://www.centerlinewheels.com) has a new H/T Comp series that is rotary forged 1 pc. I went with the Comet in a 16x8 for my 285's. 10" is a bit much...

Oh yeah, better mention, you will likely not find weights to clip on even the back side of these wheels. I had mine balanced with Equal (sand) and it seems to be doing quite well. The outer rim is VERY thick, just like an OE steel w/a beauty ring. Two wheels packaged was 52#

You'll need a VERY thin wall socket for the lug nuts also, and they are NOT directional so the "Comets" are spinning one way on one side etc...

I went with American Racing Baja rims in 16x8 for my 265/75 Revos. The rims were pretty inexpensive (about $175 each including ss center caps and lug nuts) and look great.

I'm pretty sure that they come in 16x10 as well.

I'm going with the 16x10's because I'm putting the lift on it and these are going on at the same time.

Jason,

Glad you finally got a HD. Welcome to the group.
Check with you dealer on warranty impact before you change too much stuff. They are tougher on some things than they used to be. (still have that picture of you, should I repost?? ;)

I am waiting on an '04 3500 crew cab. Let me know what fancy stuff you are going to have for it.

Regards,
Bob

Pendlum,

Question: What tires came on your 2004? Are they 245s just as in past years?

I heard a rumor they might be changing to 265s on the 2004 models.

I went with the weld evo velociti xt 16x10. Check them out at my web link below. They are a great wheel, but if I had to do over, I would have went with the 18" instead of the 16". Nitto makes a Grappler in an 18" .375 taller than the 16" I currently run now.
