I was real proud of myself today, replaced the starter on my 96 burb. with the 6.5 turbo, (155 k). I even was able to get that nut on the support bracket on the back of the starter. Started it up (it turned over faster than when I got it). It started surging right away, would go up to 2000 rpm than back to 1000 and keep surging. it stopped doing it after about 2 minuites, and then idled smoothly. Now when you apply throttle it surges to 2000 rpm and back to 1000 consistantly, now matter how much throttle you give it, it keeps surging. Any ideas? I replaced the cable from the battery to the starter. What does that little wire do that attaches to the starter? if that was broken or not connected well would that cause a surge?
Any help would be appreciated!!
Dennis

ok, so I go out after I post the problem, and it runs great!? I had the battery unhooked for about 2 days, does the computer have to reset itself?
so, as of right now she working good, If anybody has any ideas why this happened it would be great to know.

Thanks,
Dennis
