I realize GM assembles with sealant only, but I am curious if anybody knows of a source for actual gaskets? It is a lot of work to chance another leak with sealant only.

Felpro makes a hearty cork gasket as a replacement for the blue goo. Based on personal experience I recomend using both silicone and gasket for a good seal. Good luck, Justin

The new sealant the GM uses is INCREDIBLE! I had to use a hammer a chisel to remove the old covers. The product is available at stores in a pressurized can called "The Right Stuff" It does work! In my past experiences I always found it better to use either silicon OR a gasket(w/spray tack) not both. I found that the silicon makes the gasket slippery and slide out of place. In either case surface prep and proper torque is the key to no leaks. just my .02!
