Summit white has the paint code 50. Ordered a bottle of it from dealer. kept coming in as paint code 50 color Olympic White. Dealer sent it back twice and finally factory advised it is paint code 50 but in touch up they call it olympic white.
parts guy says this often happens where the names are diff but the code is same.
I put a couple drops on inside edge of tailgate and its close but no cigar. Similar problem anyone?

Go to a paint store PPG or Dupont and get some touch up paint..Auto zone carries some also..Use the WA number in the glove box..

I got a touch up bottle of the Summit (aka Olympic) white from a dealer and it seemed OK for the couple of small nicks I was repairing.
Regardless of where you get paint from, time and slight variations with a batch will give some small differences.
I used Langka to blend in the blob from touch up. Good product (see www.langka.com) but takes some practice. I'm just glad I've got the white, it's much more forgiving of a truck color.
Best of luck.

Back in the old days('97), I got two bottles of paint free from GM with a new truck. Then again the truck was only $25 K, I guess with the $40 K truck touch up paint is not included.

Uncle T,

GM uses the same paint code for both Chevy colors and GMC colors. My truck color (Chevy) is called "Medium Charcoal Grey" - GMC calls it "Storm Grey Metallic", that's the way the touch-up paint is labelled - same paint code.

I was given touch up paint from the dealer at no charge.

I've heard the Langka product really makes the difference in blending the repairs.
