View Full Version : 315/75/16
Ok, so a few guys have H2 wheels and tires on with only a few modifications to their trucks. 315/75/16 tires spec @ 34.7" The H2 tires spec @ 34.4 So I'll ask if anyone has 315/75/16s on their truck? Does anyone have the resources ;) to try them on 16x8 rims with 4 5/8 backspacing? My 285s are looking really small lately :(

I have seen one truck that had them, but he had them on stock rims, I dont think you would be able to get them to fit very good, even with 4 5/8 bs, that is the key to the H2's the backspacing is why they fit.
On 8" wide rims you'll need 4 7/8" backspacing, or better yet, 5" backspacing. Otherwise you'll have tire rub that can't be cured by trimming. With the 315/70R17's on H2 wheels the tire is very close to rubbing the sheetmetal at the rear of the front wheelwells after doing the necessary trimming.
Wow, I found a "new" tire size only in Goodyear Wrangler AT/S. 315/70/16, I know these would fit but I'm not sure about the AT/S tires. Heard good and bad from close friends.... I really love my BFG ATs. Maybe I'll settle for a set of 305 BFGs.

Just put on 315/75/16. I put on a 6" trailmaster lift with them.

I have 315/75/16 Goodyear MTR on 16x10 with 2" keyways and I had to do alot of trimming and cutting.

One thing I'll say about the H2's with the BFG 315/17's: They ride real smooth and make no noise!
I really like the look but at my age redface.gif (just turned 55, officially a senior c now) the ride and sound has really won me over now that I've ran on them a while. One reason I chose them was because I thought, would H2 buyers be willing to sacrafice a quiet ride in their $50K+ SUV's!!
No way  , and now I know that they don't, the BFG 315/17's are awesome!!! :D :D :D
A lift kit is out, cuz I tow a big gooseneck. 4" kit isn't worth it to me either. I really like Dmax Diva's lift and tire combo. I like the 305/70/16 E Nitto Terra Grappler tires they are rated at 3525@65psi if I remember correctly.
