Where is your boost guage plumbed in?

My manic-mechanic tapped and plumbed the pickup for my boost gauge dead center in the top of the intake manifold, near the two OEM sensors for intake temp and boost pressure.

Where have others plumbed theirs in? Will location create any variation in the accuracy of the guage reading?

I put mine in the duct between the turbo & intake manifold. I dont think your location will be a problem. There is no "FLOW" going out the sensors, so the pressure should read correctly there.

i ran mine into the upper intake piece,in the back pointing towards the glowplug relay area.so i could hide the hose and use the plastic cover over the top.

also mark i see you have 94's,there is a plug in the firewall where the gasser throttle cable goes thru,pull that out and run the hose thru there,i also run my pyro lead and the wire for my trans temp thru there.

I removed the factory boost sensor from the top of the manifold and inserted a standard plumbing "T". Then I screwed the factory sensor and the gauge sensor into the "T" one on each side. Simple, cheap and has worked for 200,000 miles!. As an aside, I removed the plastic cover early on...my theory is that the heat can get away from the IP etc. better. The original PMD lasted 100,000 miles.

I ran mine near the OEM sensor, also. Good enough for the General, good enough for me.

Yep, Top dead center on the intake is where mine is too, works fine!

The factory manual show the GM boost tester replacing the foward most bolt in the plenum (this hole is blind). So I bought a matching 8mm bolt, drilled an 1/8" hole through it, TIG welded a short piece of 1/4" diameter steel to the top of the head, and machined barbs on the 1/4" steel. Didn't have to drill, tap, or remove the plenum.

ya but dp while you have the upper part off you can cut all that unnecessary aluminum out of the way

Mine is located exactly where yours is Mark. I've never had any problems with it there and I get good boost readings.

I drilled and tapped the upper intake about 3 1/2 inches in. It faces back towards the firewall. Spikes to 13-14 and can hold it it at 10.
