Hoot----
Where did you install your pressure transducer for the Spa boost readout?
I have my gauge installed but not wired yet. Where did yo go through the firewall?
I will be installing my EGT probe in the same place as you did. How deep did you install the EGT probe?
Sorry for the many questions.
Denny

Inspector,

I removed the aluminum intake tube going from the intercooler exit to the manifold intake. I had an aluminum "bung", which is a circular thicker piece of aluminum, heliarced to the tube. I drilled through and tapped it for the required NPT size. If you don't have the capability you can simply "T" into the short wastegate line to pick up boost. Although that's a pre-intercooler reading, it's still close. Most are using that.

I believe the EGT probe enters the exhaust manifold about 3/4". That was then.... SPA doesn't use my style probe anymore so yours could be different.

I went through the firewall by drilling a hole with a 1" hole saw between the engine and the steering column at a place designed for a big hole for aftermarket upfitters. There is a distinct circular depression there and it's in a great spot from inside under the dash. I took a piece of small dia. plastic hose and split it with a razor to use as a protective grommet. The tubing I used was clear so you can't really see it. All I had at the time. Some guys have simply used an existing place where other stock wires run through but I have found this large hole came in handy as I added accessories. My propane system wires go through there also. Here are some pics...

Hoot, thanks for the direction. I posted last night in hopes that you would see it.
Thanks again.

My '03 has a black sound deadening material along the firewall, except there is a hole in the sound deadening material at this spot. Inside is a hole in the plastic that corresponds to this spot.

*EDIT* DUUUHHH Noticed Hoots had same hole in that mterial DUUUHHH

When I get to install mode Ill take a few pics.

Still debating about where to put the boost sensor, where Hoot has his will put it near some AC stuff, and where JK recommended it on the other side of the blue hose has way too much crap to get it in.

Ill probably put it on the opposite side where Hoot did. Moving the sensor farther out on the firewall side will interfere with the fuel filter swaps, and at dead midnight in the middle of nowhere I want as much free room around the fuel filter as possible.

Hoot welded the intake tube, someone local or someone at work?

In wander mode at Pep Boys I found an EGR Grommet with 1" OD and 1/2" ID. That will be my firewall grommet smile.gif
