I was thinking of getting a 3 hole mount for gauges...need pyro, boost, Oil Temp...but I also want tranny temp...can I install an A/B switch to the temp gauge and select either tranny, or engine Oil?.... would help if I could... what gauges seem the best?
Paul,
I bought isspro/us gear gauges. Overall not very impressed. The boost gauge has stuck from about 6 mo. after I installed it. Currently the oil temp gauge is not working even after installation of a new sensor. Will work if I "thump" it. EGT gauges are finiky because they depend on the temp probe to actually generate very low voltage that the gauge "reads" I'm not sure if it would pass through a switch contact w/o losing signal.

My Isspro gauges never gave me any trouble.
I bought my guages from Banks along with a pillar pod mount and yes you can buy another sending unit and install a switch to switch between sending units.
I have had no problems with any of my gauges.
Look great  , well lit at night, easy to read... :D
I installed the triple pillar from Autometer with VDO Vision series gauges. Tranny temp is done with a 120-250F oil gauge, boost is 0-15 psi, and pyro I believe reads to 1750-1850 F. Gauges have been good, the only ones I know of that match the oem dash (orange needle on black with white letters and backlit through the face (light does not come from the perimeter).
Boost and temp were about $25-30 each, temp sensor about $12, boost tubing about $10, the full pyro kit was $130.
www.egauges.com (http://www.egauges.com) is one place that sells the VDO products, or look at www.vdona.com. (http://www.vdona.com.)

I have the Isspro EV gauges and love them. I bought the boost, tranny temp and pyro gauges with the 3 pillar pod from www.dieselpage.com. (http://www.dieselpage.com.) I think the whole setup was about $345. Easy install with the pyro sensor clamp option.
I bought the autometer lunar gauges and very satisfied with them. I paid $450.00 for Trans, Pyro and Boost and 3 gauge pillar mount. They light up really good and it does take time to get used to. No problems since I installed them 9 months ago.
