When you manually shift from O/D to 3rd gear
is there any mechanical action in the transmission other than sending a different code to the PCM..

I would like to fool the PCM by changing the input code so I can down shift without moving the shift lever. Doable ?????

I've had the linkage sensor off. I didn't see any linkage into the trans. body like on the 700R4. With exception of the parking lock.

AAH SO : All the shifting is down by elect
inputs to the PCM and than back to the Trans ???

Therefore if I open the input to the PCM that
makes it think it's requesting 3rd, it will downshift...Guess I gotta try it...
