Buddy at work has a cummins, And is running a TST box, He called TST about bigger exaust and was told that it would be a waste of money beings in there testing it did not lower exaust temps any. why would it lower on Duramax and not a cummins? didn't sound right to me ! was kinda wondering. maybe he misunderstood or was mislead.

Installing an exhaust on a Cummins does lower EGT's. Approx 50-150 degrees, depending on configuration. Is that appreciable? Perhaps. If one is running a box alone, the gain may not be worth it. But if you're running a couple of modules, propane, N2O, H2O, injectors, twin turbos, et al, it will be worth the change.
Not to mention, the reduction in back pressure will most certainly aid in turbine spoolup. I'm running 5" and loving it.
