Recently I noticed that the front end seemed to be riding quite hard and when you hit even a small bump it would rattle your teeth. Upon looking under the front end I noticed the bump stops to be riding on the lower a-arms and causing this bad ride. I adjusted the torsion bolts up ~5 turns and noticed that the drivers side was much easier to raise than the passenger. My question is one of two; first, could I have a weak torsion bar and second, what is gm's spec on height for this adjustment? Any help greatly appreciated.

There is a spec for the height posted somewhere, just do a search. Turning the torsion bars up is fine I just would not go more than 4 or 5 turns without getting the front end aligned. I turned mine up 4 and had it aligned just o be safe.

If you search this site you will find many posts about the torsion bars. You are looking for the "Z" or the front end height value. Also search for ride height and other similar things.

Thanks for the info. I have read most of the info posted and many of you complain about the driver side being lower than the passenger side. Could the torsion bar on that side be weak?
