2164 Max EGT: beep, beep...

That's what showed up on my Edge Attitude monitor tonight when I first started my truck. I just had the 4.81 version installed after dealing with a hardstarting problem of the 4.71 or 4.73(I forget which one.)

Has anyone had this problem? My installer thought it was the pyrometer so he installed a new thermocoupler. It ran fine for one day and then it showed the 2164 Max EGT warning tonight. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you or your customers had this problem? What makes you think it's the monitor? The monitor worked with the 4.73 version.

Is your probe straight and say Edge on it or is it the one with the bent angled sheath? The newer angled ones should be much better ;)

Kinda doubtful the second probe is bad. The green plug has been a source of headaches.

I believe I have the straight probe, But it looks a little kinked. The installer put electrical tape around the green plug. I e-mailed you with more info. Thanks, Mark
