Hi there. I've been lurking for quite a while now, and I just ordered a 2005 Silverado 2500HD CC D/A so I'd thought I'd join TDP.

Can someone tell me what the normal warranty is on the D/A powertrain? The information I got from the dealer says 3 yrs, 36000 miles, but I thought I read somewhere the warranty was 5 years.

Thanks!

All GM Diesels, including the Duramax, have a warranty of 5 years, 100K miles. This does not include anything but the engine, and its integral parts. Everything else is 3 years, 36K. Most 2001 and 2002 Duramax equipped trucks have an additional warranty of 7 years, 200K for the injectors only. The injector warranty was released only a couple months ago, and does not apply to the 2005 M/Y.

After 3 years or 36,000 miles there is a $100 deductible for repairs to the Duramax Diesel Engine until 5 years or 100,000 miles. The 7 year or 200,000 miles fuel injector warranty covers only certain failures, but there is no dectible if there is a coverred failure.
