Question for Barc

I have a noise that is similar to what you descibed as an intermittent "bearing rattle" coming front the engine compartment of my truck; sorta' sounds like a clutch throw-out bearing going bad (Allison rules that out :D ). Did you ever find out what was causing your noise? Here's a link to your original post in case this doesn't ring a bell:
