Hello all, I am a newbie diesel owner. I have a 1994
6.5 light duty (EGR, and Cat) that has been sending intermittent DTC code 33's. I have traced out all the vacuum hoses and found one cracked and replaced it. The code still sets and it seems to go away over 2000 RPM. Some days it won't come on at all, some days it's on and off all day. Any ideas to help me resolve this would be great!

whats code 33 pertain to.i see you talking about vac hoses and such, that would indicate a wastegate problem, which is code 78 i believe.

Check vacuum at the pump for ~25"hg at idle, check it again at the solenoids end.

Check wiring\connectors\tubing at the EGR Solenoids - front two - top rear driver's-side intake manifold.

Check wiring\connector\tubing at the EGR Sensor on the firewall, above the brake booster assembly.

Hey Nvmtnlion welcome to TDP. I'm also a newb to diesels as of January but this page has helped me tremendously. I hope you have the same experience as I have so far. I'm in Reno so I can might be able to lend a hand here or there (schedule permitting).

GMCTD, Thank you! The relays and their description was just the help I needed!! It was a crack in the hard plastic hose to the front relay. I also replaced the hose to the sensor on the firewall and no more codes so far. Thanks again!
