Just had my 2002 updated to the latest software today. My truck was built 2001-09-29 and never had any updates to it.
Something changed but I can't just put my finger on it. I have a few questions relative to that:
1- Does a TCM upgrade forces a "quick learn" mode?
2- Is there some documentation about the specific changes between the different TCM and ECM software releases
I feel like the lower speeds are passed at lower rpm, maybe 100-150 rmp lower than before but that may be a fast learn at work.
Also, there's someting diferent bout the 1st speed when I brake with or without tow/haul but I can't put my finger on it.
Haven't towed nor do any highway with the new upgrades yet so I can't comment on it. The dealer will inquire if the 5th speed disable switch is covered or not by the waranty.
Is there a change in performance/fuel economy I should expect from the aproximative version that was in my truck when it was built?
Thanks in advance.
