Briefly, new 2003 PT Cruiser Turbo found to have defective cylinder head one day after taking delivery from dealer. Enlisted advice from the diesel page members on engine condition after repair.
Mechanic at Chrysler service installed non-turbo cylinder head on an engine that is turbo charged and ran the engine in the shop. I guessed that explained why "the timing was off"
Called salesman and said it was time for Chrysler to "do the right thing". We wanted a new car. He called back several hours later, after much discussion and reluctance from the Zone rep, we will pick up a new 2003 PT Cruiser next Friday.
Thanks members for your input.
