Hello friends..
I just traded my '04 Dmax for a new '05 while the GMS incentive is going on. I had intentions of trading anyway this year, so thought this might be the best time of year to trade. Anyways, I have a couple of questions about the new '05.

1. How do you turn on/off the passenger airbag? My '04 had a keyswitch in the dash to engage/disengage the passenger airbag, but this one doesnt have anything.

2. How many miles are you guys driving on a new motor before changing oil the first time? I waited until 500 miles on my 2004, but wonder sometimes if i waited to long.

3. I have some leftover fuel filters (purchased about 8 months ago) for my 2004. I believe they were made before the upgraded fuel filters were introduced earlier this year. Will the early version filter that I had for my 2004 also fit my 2005?

Thanks guys!

Thanks in advance!

You cannot disable the passenger airbag in a Crew Cab truck as you can put things in the rear full-size seats.

I just traded in a 2005 1500 for a 2005 2500HD duramax. The 1500 had a sensor in the passenger seat that turned on the air bag when the seat was occupied. It turned off when the seat was unoccupied. The 2500, however, has the key on/off feature.

Oh...you are correct. My new 2005 is a crewcab and my 2004 was just extended cab. Now I understand :D

I changed my oil at 85, 325, and 3000 if memory serves. At 3k I did filter too. I sampled at 5k and installed bypass filter and ran till 10k (intended to drain it sooner but it got away on me) and now need to send the 5k and 10k samples in...
