Hello,

What is the filtration rate ( micron) made by racor for duramax engine on the new filter( double plea) sold by GM. Also what is the part # for the new GM filter.

The filters are all the same. The dual pleat version is 2 layers of the same media so the efficiency should pick up. No matter what micron rating they give it, the OE single pleat was far from spectacular. The dual pleat should definitely be better, but not something that I intend to rely on as my sole line of defense...

I talked to Racor people and they say Racor filter for Duramax diesel is 2 micron filtration, if that is the case why evey body is crazy about the other made.

If a filter stops ANY 2 micron particles it can be rated as 2 micron. In the case of the OE filter it is overrated. Testing has shown the OE to be pretty ineffective in the lower micron range...
