Growling noise from 05' when turning

I have an 05' Duramax that for starters still has the surging issues, but it also from time to time has a loud growling noise when accelerating and turning at the same time. The noise sounds just like a bad steering pump, but I know it's not. My dealer told me that it is the turbo and GM has not come out with a fix for it yet. It only seems to do it after driving down the interstate for awhile or when towing. After I have driven it at slower speeds it goes away until the next time I jump on the interstate or hook up the boat.

Does anybody know anything more about this problem??

So far I was much happier with my 03' as it was great, as is my Dad's 04' LLY.
