LB7 v.s. LLY

i am currently looking for a used d-max (new is to much $$) i am trying to decide between the lb7 or the lly i know that the lly is more powerful but ive seen a decrease in fuel mileage,(from the poll on this forum) i also know that the lb7 has more bolt on performance options because it has been around longer, i am leaning towards the lb7, i know i could put on and exaust and intake maybe a mild chip and be comprable with the lly without loosing fuel mileage. does anybody have and input about this tough decision? thanks for your input!

I spoke with our local GMC dealer diesel tech today at a local car show. One thing that came up in our discussion was injector replacements, and if the frequency has changed in the past year. I was told that the frequency of replacement has fallen off sharply. This is good news for the early LB7 owners.
