There has been much discussion of injector faiures including those that are current on this board at present. What is the percentage of injector failure with respect to the total production of Duramax engines? And can you purchase on the third party market place a new set of injectors for the Duramax that give it better performance and longevity? I speak to this issue because when I owned my 2001 HO 6 speed Dodge Cummins, I replaced the factory injectors at 2500 miles with Bosch 275's from BD and performance improved immediately. And I had no problems with this vehicle for 90,000 miles when I was forced to sell it because of health problems. What's the deal here? Is there a legitimate recall issue with injectors or is GM experiencing a reasonable percentage of production failure with it's vendor supplied injector? And, can we upgrade the current injectors?
