air filter oil

My AFE filter said that it was preoiled so I didn't oil it when I installed it. A month or so later i am wondering if it had enuf on it.

Another question. Does the oil in these "oil" type air filters ever dry out if u don't accumalate a lot of miles?

You should only have to oil it when you clean it,no need to add .....You also do not want it over oiled ,mass air contamination comes to mind ....

Are you running a pre-filter,nylon sock ??

If you over oil it it just drains out -- leaves a little puddle under the truck and gives you a jolt when you see it next day.

Do be sure that it is dry after you wash it(water) before you oil it.

Yup. Afe is equipped with nylon sock.
