1st. oil change

I have 2700 mi on my 2004 DMAX\Allison and have purchased Valvoline 15w-40 all fleet + oil. Will change @ about 3500mi.Quest.??? How's this Brand of oil??? I'm New to Diesel engines, but have used Valvoline oil in my gas rigs with good results. Any feedback would be helpful.

Well, I use the Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme 5/40 or whatever the full syn. oil is. I've had no problem with it. A few who know here on the board have said it's a good oil. There may be better, but there seems to be nothing wrong with it. General thoughts I've gotten are it's a good oil from a respected company.
