Leaf spring add

Has anyone added an extra leaf spring to a 2500 hd. bought a new trailer and may need to add one. Is there a lot to it or can i do it myself. Didn't know if realighnment would be needed or not. thanks... smile.gif

I have a 2500hd d/a and carry a 4000lb slide in camper. I have air bags but really don't need them with the camper on it only squats down about 2 inches.I wouldn"t think you will need more spring you might try it first,enjoy!

I added one leaf and had all but the main arched just about 1" more. This works GREAT, and I believe rides even better than stock, especially with my new Bilsteins :cool: just installed. Having seperation between the leaves and the solid bar (2nd stage) gives more travel at the lighter spring rates.

I've had the springs this way for several thousand miles (10-12k?) but have only abot 4 miles on the rear shocks.
