Can some existing owners post their normal tank-to-tank unladen fuel useage for me?

I'm trying to do calculations to determine whether I should replace my existing truck.

McRat,

Above 75mph I always average 17 - 18 mpg. In the 70 to 75 mph range it solidly runs 19 mpg.
Keeping the truck under 70 mph has yielded me over 20mpg. That has ususally been in the Eastern part of the U.S. near seal level elevations.

19 mpg is typical and it goes down or up with average speed. Of course, that's when it's running. I have broken down a lot lately. Stuck alongside the road shows little fuel consumption.

Just into the very low 20s at 60 - 70 mph on the highway, and 16 - 17 around town.

18.7 solo consisting of 70% highway and 30% city. It will do 19 on a long stretch of rolling hill freeway at 73 MPH and 21 when I run under 65. Later! Lone Eagle :D

I'm at just under 30,000 miles and I get about 22 MPG. I rarely go over 65 MPH though and almost all my driving is freeway miles.

I average about 18-1/2, but I work in town, so I "get on it" more than average. Luckilly I drive 25 miles to work, so I can enjoy it a bit more each day.

I can get 23 mpg easy: cruise control, flat ground, 60mph. You have to understand that when most people brag about their awesome mileage, it's usually under similar conditions.

I probably realistically get about 14 around town, mostly because of the way I drive.

Oh yeah, and this is a crew cab long box with a spray in bedliner and a tool box jam packed full of tools. So it's pretty darn good in my book.

I currently run a 1996 E-350 Clubwagon 15-pass with 5.8l gas, 4.10 and E4OD as a delivery truck and tow vehicle. It gets 15mpg average combined 70/30 highway/city unladen, and 7mpg towing 7,000lb. While it has peaked at 17mpg highway only, that's not what I base it's economy at.

When I drive the Vette, it gets about 18mpg, although on long hauls it will get 28-30mpg at 65, and 18mpg at 100.

I was going to buy another Ford, but with the injection issues, I'm now shopping around more. Dodge is out (no HO in CA), so I'm getting info about GM's. Apparently the current crop of Ford 6.0's get from 14/9mpg highway/city to 20/18mpg. I will not take a chance and get a 14mpg diesel. I expect a minimum of 17mpg unladen, and it seems the GM is a much safer bet at this point.

Also, the 2 Ford's I drove as test units had lousy 0-20mph performance. My existing Van is quicker from a light. Once they get rolling, they rip, but again I'm not sure I want to take a chance.

Hey McRat!

My 03 crew-cab dually with only 2400 miles is getting 14 mpg with 60% city and 40% highway. Always tools in the bed and usually ladders and staging on the rack. Can't wait till she breaks-in... Good luck. ;)
