View Full Version : Fuel Injector Test with Predator

Has anyone done an injector balance test with the Predator? I understand it can be done. I checked the search method on the DP but couldn`t find anything and the Predator manual doesn`t help either. Need instructions.

You cannot do a balance test as this requires the bidirectional commands of a Tech 2, BUT you can compare the balancing rates of all 8 cylinders at idle.

OK JK, How do I compare the balancing rates with the Pred. ?

Just center the display around the 8 cylinder's balancing rates and observe. The numbers will fluctuate, so you'll want to let everything stabilize on a FULLY warmed engine.

In an ideal situation, the numbers will be less than 2mm, and will be +/- from zero. Anything under 3 is fine.

jomar, go to diagnostics, real time data, engine data 2, i believe and go down until you get to balancing rates.

Well I checked the injector balance rates today. Now if I only knew what all these numbers mean. Anybody please------

Those #'s all look good. I believe Eric, said he likes to see them between 3 and -3.

White Duramax, thanks . I seem to remember that someone said 3 or less was good. I ask the local dealer about a flow test and they said it was quite involved, took a long time to perform and the factory would only do it if there was an obvious injecter problem. So I hope I never have to have it done. Thanks again,
