Lift Pump?

So I was crawling under my truck last night putting in trailer wiring and I saw what looked like a fuel pump in the bed rail.

I thought these trucks used an in tank lift pump. Was I wrong and is this the lift pump I found?

My '94s lift pumps are frame rail mounted below the driver's door.
