I just put Michelin LXT AS 265/75/16's on Mine. I got them for $85.00 each. The oil field companies take off all factory tires when they buy new pickups, and replace them with heavy lug mud and snows, and the dealer that changes them sells the take offs cheap.

I have ProComp 305's with a torsion crankup. The X-Terrains are pretty good in all weather and great in dirt and especially mud. They do make a nice hmmmmmmm at speed and probably will not last too long. They cost darn near $185 each and are probably not worth it for the 75% road driving I do. They are load range D, which is a little less than the E I would prefer for the 2500HD.

I use Firestone Steelex 265/75/16's 10 ply load range E. Between my son and I we've had 6 new Duramax's. I keep going for this tire with each new truck because the road noise on the highway is minimal, the tread is aggressive enough in snow and softer conditions and they don't hold the stones. With regular rotation every 10K miles we can get 50-60K miles easily. We used Michelins on a couple trucks and they didn't have the same wear life. I'm sure there are equally good tires and likely better choices out there to buy, but we have been satisfied with these. They cost about $500 per set or $200 diff trading in the new OEM's....

I replaced my OEM 245's immediately w/BFG 285/75's. I tow a 13K 5'r and this was the only tire I could find w/a 3 ply sidewall which would seem to provide additional stability and safety. I have 11K miles and they don't show any wear, no added noticable road noise, and haven't had any vibration issues. I rotate them frequently to extend their life.

I replaced my 245 before I actually signed for the truck-2003. The dealer made me sign a printout about how they couldn't diagnose any problems releated to transmission unless I put 245's back on. Bit of an a$$hole come to think of it. Anyway I picked up Remington Widebrute 265's load range "D" for 90 bucks a tire. 8500 miles later no problems at all. Wearing very very well and are quiet on highway but keep me going while plowing snow too.
