Buying new 04 need help on price

Im getting a new 04 CC GMC SLT 3500 DUALLY unfortunatly its not the LLY truck.
Anyway I was told buy a dealer (not the one i am buying the truck from) that to figure out list price you take the sticker and x's it buy .88 is this true? the truck lists for 48,000.00.
also is their a better way or place to get better pricing on a factory warrenty?

I had an 03 Dmax cc and Chevy bought it back due to so many problems with the truck.


I tell you i have never in my life expected a new truck to have just about every problem listed on thes bords.

The .88 is in the ballpark but www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com) will tell you exactly as long as you know all the options the truck has.The dealers that are in the GM Buypower program usually tack on 2 to 3 hundred more for advertising.On a straight out deal paying $500 over invoice would be tops for me.When buying with no trade I feel you have a little more leverage and the Duramax is easier to find these days. You can make an estimate like that. What you are forgetting is you should receive all incentives. It looks like this:

Dealer cost
- incentives
+ dealer holdback (~850)
+ $200 profit for salesman/dealership to split

Try www.fightingchance.com (http://www.fightingchance.com) they have a better explanation and can sell you ($25) an information packet to calculate what to pay. From there, they explain how to fax the dealers to get that price rather than spend 4 hours like a fool dickering with the dealer. When I bought mine, I showed up, filled out the paper work and it was ready for me to drive home.
