I asked this on the 6.2 forum but couldn't get a response.
I was driving my truck the other day and the wires to the manual switch I installed for the TCC on my 700R4 burnt up. It was a real scare for a bit.
After I made it home. I starting checking for shorts. All seems to be well with the wiring; so I'm thinking the solenoid shorted or the 3-4 pressure switch.
What is involved in replacing it? I realize the pan has to be dropped, but what is involved after that to get to it? Is it in the open or is it under the valve body or anything? Do you remove it's screws and then does it come out easily or is it attached by some means to something else?
I have a new solenoid that will be here tomorrow. Can I bypass the 3-4 switch and have the TC start locking up in 2nd instead of OD? I will use another switch to turn it off when I need to.
