Thanks for the info! I was looking for it. BTW, did you happen to come across what the as-yet-not-hooked-up 6th gear's ratio is?

Sorry, not a clue. Sure would be nice to see it between 4th and 5th.

I was hoping for something like a .55, so my truck would turn 1400 rpm at 70 and I could get 25 mpg when empty.

The number we've heard several times for 6th gear is .61:1, which would be a nice cruising gear for level ground. The story is that it only requires a solenoid, a valve and TCM programming to address the gear.

There's been a lot of speculation that GM might introduce "The all NEW 6 Speed" tranny in 2004 or 2005 as a card to pull out of it's hat as the diesel power/features wars heat up.
