Ok, say you are pulling a heavy load up a mountain and your egt's are getting too high. What is the best way to lower them without stopping? (or is there one)?

The only thing I can do is get off the gas alittle. I will usually maintain speed or lose a couple mph.
Yes, downshift! The higer RPM's of a lower gear moves more air and lowers the EGT.

Thanks Guys! Thats what I was wondering about.
Pulling 12000 pounds on 6% and 7% grades I have yet to have to down shift to lower EGT. I just feather the go pedal. I can keep the egt right at 1250 and not loose more then 1 mph. This is with the juice set on level 2.
