Just wondering if anybody here has heard of or is using SFR (Superior Friction Reducer) as an oil additive in the duramax? I personally have experienced great advantages such as increased fuel economy and motor longevity in other vehicles but I'm waiting for a good break in point on the Duramax before using.

Despite the manufacturer claims and flowery customer testimonials, oil additives/treatments in general are not recommended. There are others here with more lubrication technology expertise who can expand on this, but the oil additive packages included with all good diesel motor oils are formulated to provide what the engine needs. Some oil treatments can actually combine with the oil additive package in your motor oil to produce unwelcome results.
We recommend using a quality motor oil (by itself)with an API diesel certification of CG-4, CH-4 or CI-4. smile.gif
