View Full Version : 2005 lly problems
I have a 2005 duramax with the allison. The truck has been in and out of the shop for the past three weeks with fuel pressure problems. Anytime the truck is pushed hard it hesitates from lack of fuel and will kick to limp mode. All my dealer does is change the fuel filter and tell me that it is fixed. The filter system always shows too much vacuum. All fuel lines have been checked and the fuel tank has been dropped and there was nothing that could be causing the filter to plug. My dealer is stummped and I was hoping for some info to help.

so far i'm very happy with the 06
What did your dealer do to try and fix the problem?
You can save yourself a lot of potential mystery/misery by checking the restriction yourself:

More and more Dmax owners are finding out how sweet it is to be able to take matters into their own hands and know EXACTLY what the condition of their filter(s) is.
Now it may come down to needing to add a lift/supply pump kit to ensure adequate delivery, but knowing filter condition is the first requirement. I run twin KD pumps on both of my trucks to make sure that I have adequate supply.

Defective tank cap, causing too much vacuum in the tank?
Loosen the fuel tank cap temporarily, then go for a big throttle run and see if engine cuts out.
Easy enough to try...
