View Full Version : Alamosa,CO Breakdown
Came into Alamosa CO and the truck started making bad noises from the drive train. '03 DMAX Allison.
Anybody know anything about the Town and Country GMC dealer here - I'm planning on calling in the am and maybe have it towed - it moves but makes some funky noises.

have you done any investigating into what it may be?

I replaced both u-joints (rear shaft) on my '01 after it started making intermittant and strange grinding noises. Sure sounded like the transmission.
Was glad when I found out it wasn't a tranny thing!
Good luck let us know what the circustances and the outcome was. Are you towing your trailer?
Ended up the transfer case was shot - 51,000 miles - not what would be considered a bunch of 4wding by any strech - very gentle generally with the vehicle and well/regurlarly maintained. Looks like maybe the rear seal in the tc blew up and lost fluid.
Guys at the Town and Country GMC in Alamosa were great - got er done in 2 days, RL the service manager was very helpful as I was on my way to a job 200 miles away -
$2,300 later I'm on my way -
